Description

Surf and Turf is a combination of seafood and red meat for the main course. Our Surf and Turf recipe combines steak with shrimp cooked in a cast iron pan.

Ingredients:

    2 New York Strip Steaks
    8 oz. shrimp
    2 tbsp. olive oil
    2 garlic cloves
    Salt & pepper
    Favorite steak seasoning

    Garlic Butter
    4 tbsp. vegan buttery spread
    1 tbsp. garlic, minced
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 tbsp. parsley
    Salt & pepper

Directions

1. For the garlic butter, combine vegan buttery spread, minced garlic, thyme, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until combined. Cover and refrigerate.
2. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let rest for at least 20 minutes before cooking. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and your preferred steak seasoning.
3. Heat a large cast iron skillet oven to high heat. Add 1 tbsp. of garlic butter and 1 tbsp. olive oil.
4. Add steaks to pan along with 2 garlic cloves. Cook the steaks for 3-5 minutes, flip, and cook for another 3-5 minute until the doneness is how you like it. Remove from pan and let rest.
5. Add 1 tbsp. garlic butter to cast iron and add shrimp. Cook for 30-60 seconds, flip, and cook for another 30-60 seconds until shrimp curl up in a "c" shape.
6. Serve steak with shrimp and extra garlic butter on top!
