Sausage Breakfast Pizza

A special, satisfying breakfast treat. Sausage Breakfast Pizza is made of English muffins topped with gravy, sausage, eggs, and vegan shredded cheddar cheese.


    1 lb. breakfast sausage
    1 1/2 cups almond milk
    1/4 cup sausage drippings/buttery spread
    1/4 cup flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    6 eggs
    8 oz. vegan shredded cheese
    1 package English muffins (i.e. 6 muffins)


1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a large skillet and/or cast iron pan, cook the sausage until done. Transfer the sausage to a bowl being careful to leave as much drippings as possible.
3. If you don't have 1/4 of drippings, add enough buttery spread to compensate. Add the flour. Cook for 3-4 minutes until flour mixture starts to become golden.
4. Slowly add in the almond milk and stir constantly until well combined. Cook for another 5 minutes so that the gravy thickens.
5. Meanwhile, open the English muffins and place on a baking sheet. You can spread a little buttery spread on the English Muffins.
6. Toast the English Muffins for 5 minutes then remove from oven.
7. In a skillet, scramble the eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the cooked eggs to the bowl with sausage. Add the vegan shredded cheese. Stir until mixed together.
8. To assemble the breakfast pizza, top each English Muffin with gravy then spoon the sausage mixture on top.
9. Cook for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and pizzas are heated through.

    • Could substitute turkey sausage for the traditional breakfast sausage.
    • Add spinach or peppers.
    • Can substitute a plant-based egg replacer for actual eggs.
