Description

A spicy twist to sirloin steak. Pepper steak is a stir-fried Asian American dish made of steak, sliced bell peppers, soy sauce, and other seasonings.

Ingredients:

    3 lb. sirloin steak
    1 red pepper, sliced
    1 green pepper, sliced
    1 sweet onion, sliced
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    3 tbsp. olive oil
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 tsp. red pepper flakes
    2 tsp. steak seasoning
    Jasmine or long-grain rice, cooked

Directions

1. Prepare steak and cut into 1 inch pieces.
2. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
3. Combine the steak and marinate in a plastic bag. Let marinate for a few hours or overnight.
4. Slice peppers and onions. Mince garlic.
5. In a cast iron pan, heat 1 tsp. olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sirloin pieces. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Season with 1 tsp. steak seasoning. Remove from pan and set aside.
6. In the same pan, add another 1 tbsp. olive oil. Add sliced peppers and onions. Season with 1 tsp. steak seasoning. Cook for 5 minutes until browned and crisp.
7. Add sirloin back to pan. Cook for another few minutes until heated through.
8. Serve over cooked rice.
