Description

Prime rib is the most tender rib roast available! This Herb Roasted Prime Rib recipe has a flavorful garlic herb crust with tender and flavorful prime rib on the inside. Whether it is Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter, prime rib will be a family favorite.

Ingredients:

    1 cup buttery spread
    8 garlic cloves, minced
    2 tbsp. fresh rosemary
    2 tbsp. fresh thyme
2 tbsp. freshly ground sea salt
1 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
    5 lb. ribeye roast
    2 tbsp. flour
    2 cups beef broth

Directions

1. Remove roast from fridge an hour ahead of cooking to let it come to room temperature.
2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
3. Mix buttery spread, minced garlic, herb, salt, and pepper until combined.
4. Spread garlic herb butter over the roast. Place roast on rack in roasting pan.
5. Roast at 450 degrees for 15 minutes then reduce temperature to 325 and cook for approximately 1-2 hours depending on the size of your roast.
6. Take the temperature of the roast - 125 rare, 135 medium-rare, 145 medium, 150 medium-well, and 160 well-done.
7. Once the roast reaches your desired temperature, remove from oven, cover with foil, and let rest for 15 minutes.
8. While the roast is roasting, transfer as much of the drippings to a sauce pan. Add 1 tbsp. buttery spread and 2 tbsp. flour. Mix until combined and cook for 1-2 minutes until flour starts to turn golden brown. Slowly add in the beef broth and stir until combined.
9. Slice, serve, top with sauce, and enjoy!
