Description

Remember Grandma's Oatmeal Cookies? Here is an authentic recipe. I loved how the house was filled with the wonderful aroma of spices.

Ingredients:

    2 cups brown sugar
    1 cup unsalted vegan butter
    3 cups oatmeal
    2 cups flour
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 cup hot water
    1 tsp. baking soda
    Pinch of salt

    Optional:
    Raisins

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Soften vegan butter. Add brown sugar and mix until smooth.
Combine oatmeal, flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt in separate bowl.
Combine all of the above and add 1/2 cup hot water. Mix thoroughly. Add raisins if desired.
Bake cookies on parchment lined cookie sheet for 8 minutes.
Let cool or enjoy warm.
