Description

Carne Asada Street Tacos is an authentic Mexican recipe that you can easily make at home. After marinating and grilling your carne asada, make your taco by layering the meat, red onion, and fresh cilantro!

Ingredients:

    1-2 lbs. skirt steak
    2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. lime juice (freshly squeezed)
    2 tbsp. olive oil
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    2 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1 tsp oregano
    Mini street taco tortillas
    1 small red onion, diced
    1/2 cup cilantro, diced
    1 lime, sliced

Directions

1. For the marinade, combine soy sauce, lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano in a small bowl. Mix to combine.
2. In baking dish or zip lock bag, lay the skirt steak flat and cover in marinade. Let it marinade for 1-3 hours. Turning occasionally.
3. In a cast iron skillet, heat 1 tbsp. olive oil. Add the steak and marinade. Cook for 3-4 minutes, flip, and cook for another 3-4 minutes depending on how thick the steak is. Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
4. Slice the steak. Serve in warmed tortillas with diced onion and cilantro on top along with lime on the side.
