Description

These BBQ meatballs can be served as your main dish or make the meatballs smaller for appetizers. The homemade BBQ is a little sweet, a little sour, and absolutely delicious. Your family and friends will love them!

Ingredients:

    Meatballs
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 lb. ground pork
    1 cup breadcrumbs
    1 white onion, diced
    1/4 cup parsley
    1 garlic cloves, minced
    2 eggs or its equivalent
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper

    BBQ Glaze
    1 white onion, diced
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    1/2 cup honey
    1/4 brown sugar
    1 cup ketchup
    2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tbsp. tomato paste
    1 tbsp. mustard
    Salt & pepper

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a medium to large bowl, combine beef, pork, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, minced garlic, eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.
3. Roll 1-inch meatballs and lay on a foil-covered cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
4. For the BBQ sauce, heat a medium to large skillet to medium high. Add white onion and 1 tbsp. buttery spread. Sauté for 10 minutes. Add garlic and sauté until caramelized.
5. Add the cider vinegar, honey, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire, tomato pasta, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir to combine, bring to simmer, and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Cover the meatballs in BBQ sauce.
7. Poke meatballs with toothpicks, top with crushed fried onions, and serve.
